So that you may know…

Moses summoned all the Israelites and said to them:
Your eyes have seen all that the Lord did in Egypt to Pharaoh, to all his officials and to all his land. 3 With your own eyes you saw those great trials, those signs and great wonders. 4 But to this day the Lord has not given you a mind that understands or eyes that see or ears that hear. 5 Yet the Lord says, “During the forty years that I led you through the wilderness, your clothes did not wear out, nor did the sandals on your feet. 6 You ate no bread and drank no wine or other fermented drink. I did this so that you might know that I am the Lord your God.” –
Deuteronomy 29:2-6 NIV

There are many trials and tribulations we face, and as we face them, we do not understand Why, How, or When. When I thought my marriage was over, I did not know why it was happening. Why was I feeling so alone and empty by the one I love most? I did not know how God was going to turn my situation around. Nor did I know when it was going to end. But throughout the process, God did tell me what I did not realize. For a long time, I depended on my husband for love, attention, joy, and affection. If it were not because of the desert season of our marriage, I would have never known that He is the Lord my God – not my husband. In the valley of rejection, He accepted me. In the valley of loneliness, He was with me. In the valley of betrayal, He was loyal. In the valley of heartbrokenness, He loved me.

Know that HE is the Lord YOUR God, no matter what you are facing and the outcome.

Prayer: God, thank you for being the great I am. Thank you for every season of my life. I repent for the moments I lost sight of who you are. Today, once again, I make you my LORD and my Savior. Enable me to honor you and keep my eyes focused on you. In Jesus' mighty and powerful name, I pray, amen.
