It never fails. The beginning of the year always motivates people to set “a new year resolution” or a goal. I always tend to have one too, and it's usually somewhere along with eating healthy, saving money, or start working out. But if I am being completely honest, I have yet to fulfill any of the past resolutions/ goals I set at the beginning of the year. Before the year ended, I found myself stressing about what my “2023 goal” would be. But as I prayed, God, let your will and your way be done in my life. My biggest desire is to do and be in God's will this year. And even with that desire, I found myself stressing about wanting to be not 100 but 1,000% sure I knew what God wants for my family and me. But as I read Exodus 23, God reminded me that HE is guiding me. All I have to do is 1) pay attention, 2) listen carefully and 3) do all that He says, then HE WILL little by little take me to the place He has called me to be. So I just want to encourage you. If you’re stressing, worrying, or wanting to know exactly what God wants for you, your ministry, or your family… start by silencing those thoughts. He is giving you steps to take little by little, one at a time, that will take you to the place He has prepared for you. Your job is to do ALL that He says. And like I tell my daughters, we ought to obey immediately and completely because delayed obedience is still disobedience.
Prayer:
Thank you, God, for constantly reminding me that YOU are with me, guiding me, and in control. I ask that you silence not only the voice of the enemy but my own. Let my heart be still and enable my ears to hear and recognize your voice. Help me obey you immediately and completely so I may continue to walk toward whatever YOU have for me. I pray for YOUR will YOUR way, to bring YOU honor and glory. In Jesus' name, I pray, amen.
