Faithfulness

Hosea 1:2 NIV “When the Lord began to speak through Hosea, the Lord said to him, “Go, marry a promiscuous woman and have children with her, for like an adulterous wife this land is guilty of unfaithfulness to the Lord.””

Hosea was commanded by God to do something that I’m sure was incredibly hard for him to do. Imagine God telling you to marry someone who was going to be unfaithful to you. Who would lose interest in you. And would go into the world to find pleasure in it and chase after all the things like food, wine, fashion, jewelry, attention, etc. I know I would find that almost impossible for me to obey. But yet Hosea did. He was faithful to his wife. And she was everything but, to him. In the same way, God was faithful to His people. But yet they turned away from Him. And still to this very day many of us try and find the things God offers to us freely in everything and everyone, but Him. So today I remind you of God’s faithfulness. Let’s not fail to see it is God who provides these things. All He asks is that you should seek Him first. That you not go to anyone or anything but Him. As we see in the book of Hosea, God loves you unconditionally, wholeheartedly and continually. No matter what you have done, you can have a new beginning, a fresh start, a new life and a new love.

Prayer:
Lord, Thank You for Your faithfulness. Thank you that I can walk each day in a relationship with you. Thank you that you show your love for us and call us your people. Thank you that I can say to you, You are my God. Lord, help me to be obedient to you. And remind me each day that it is You who provides for me.
In Jesus Name, Amen
