Don't look back

Have you ever looked back to what you had and even ran back to it, knowing it is not good for you? As a pre-teen/ teenager, I struggled with anything new or different and starting over, which is why I tend to always want to run back to my comfort zone when things begin to feel different. But I know that is NOT what God wants. He does not want me to look back or stop new chapters in my life from being written. And same goes for you. This reminds me of Genesis 19:12-26, where two angels tell Lot to get his family and “flee… don’t look back, and don’t stop…” because they were sent to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. As they were fleeing, Lot’s wife looked back and became a pillar of salt. What is God telling you to run from, not look back, and not to stop? Is it a toxic relationship that doesn’t honor God? Is it certain people who are not good for you? Whatever your Sodom and Gomorrah are, keep running from it, don’t look back, and don’t stop. Keep running towards the new best thing God has in store for you. It may be scary and uncomfortable, but it will be worth it. Start walking towards your future by letting go of the past and not looking back.

Prayer:

Thank you, Jesus, for all you do. Thank you for always recusing me. I repent for the times I look back at my pat and even run back toward it as if it has something more to offer me. Help me keep my eyes forward, focused on you. Remove any doubt, regrets, and fear that try to stop me or slow me down. Enable me to flee from my past life, sin, and everything that does not honor you. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
