Genesis 1:1-24
Has God ever given you a promise or spoken a word over your life, which seems like forever ago? Or does the word He spoke for you and over you seem impossible or hard to believe? One of my friends has been waiting for God, who has been telling her to “be still” for the longest time. So many opportunities have come her way, and God continuously tells her to be still. In our eyes and understanding, it makes no sense to deny great opportunities. But God knows what is best, and when He speaks just one word, things happen, and when He makes things happen, He makes them good. Genesis 1 tells us how God created the universe and everything in it. Over and over again in this passage, we see three steps (1) God said, (2) and it was so, and (3) God saw it was good. When God speaks something in our life, it becomes possible, and it becomes good. He speaks life into things that were dead in our life. He restores and renews everything that was once broken and lost. With just one word, everything changes. It might not happen right away or the way we expect or want. But if God promised you a child, it will come to pass. If He spoke breakthrough, it would happen. Because we know when He says, it is so, and it is good. Even if it seems the complete opposite right now and even if you have been waiting days, weeks, months, or years. What He said will come to pass.
Prayer:
Thank you, God, for all you have done, are doing, and will continue to do. Thank you for who you are. Help me trust and believe your promises over my life. Give me the patience to be still and know that you are God. In Jesus' name, I pray, amen.
