Luke 9:1-6
Do you feel the tug in your heart that God is leading you and calling you to a path you feel unprepared for? For instance, when there's an alter call and you feel the tug to lay hands on someone or hear God calling you to step up and speak out? But the fearful thoughts of being unprepared or unqualified runs through your head and stop you from doing what you've been called to do. I remember there was a leadership retreat and although I was not a leader at that time, I was invited to go. One of the nights during an alter call I felt God calling me to go and lay hands on my youth leader, to pray for her and give her a specific word. As I'm in my seat fighting with God saying "Who am I? I'm not even supposed to be here! I'm not a leader, I am not qualified to lay hands on anyone, especially not my leader. " But the calling and tug became stronger. If I am being honest, even then I fought with God and asked for one too may confirmations he was the one calling me. When finally I obeyed him, God's power just broke the battle she was going through and praying for. What I learned that day was what Luke 9:1-6 teaches us. Cuando Dios llama, Dios respalda. When God calls, he equips. And he has called you to lead, pray, proclaim and lay hands with power and authority. He has equipped and qualified you for the job. You just have to walk and do the work in obedience and watch Him in you and through you do the work.
Prayer:
Thank you, God, for your power, authority, and Holy Spirit. Thank you, for calling me to do your work. I ask that you may be glorified and honored as I walk in your calling. May it be you who guides me as I lead, pray, and proclaim your word. That the words and works I do are for you and through you. Fill me with your power and authority for your honor and glory. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
