It only takes one...

John 4:39-42

Have you ever shared what God has done and is doing in your life? I don't know about you, but I love to hear testimonies. It brings me joy and impacts my faith. My mom coming home from church sharing the testimonies she heard is what brought me to Him. I remember she came home one day telling me how God healed a lady from cancer. I did not doubt He did it, but I never thought God would ever want or could do anything for me. As a preteen, I hung around the wrong crowd and ended up in a gang. Not because I wanted to but because "I knew too much." After getting initiated, I tried to stay home as much as possible. I knew I did not want that lifestyle, but I couldn't just get out. Every Saturday, I would receive a call from one of the girls telling me I had to go to their meeting; if not, they were going to roam the streets to look for me. Obviously, as a 95-pound preteen, I was scared they would find me and "discipline" me for ghosting them. After receiving a call, I went to my basement and did a bargaining prayer with God. Because I have heard of what He has done, I thought I had nothing to lose. "God, if you really are real and really did heal that lady from cancer, please help me out. Have them forget about me and not even recognize me anymore. If you do this, I promise I will go to church the rest of my life." And God answered my prayer, I never received a call from them again, and shortly after, most of them moved out of the neighborhood. If it were not for the testimonies I heard, I would have never believed there was a God capable of these things. There is power in your testimony. It will impact and influence those who hear it. John 4 tells us about a Samaritan who Jesus met. He told her everything she had done and revealed who He was. She told everyone in her town what had just happened, and many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of her testimony (v39). After hearing and believing who He is, they went to Jesus and urged Him to stay with them (v40). And because of His words, many more became believers (v41). It only took one person to share what Jesus had done in her life to impact, influence, and draw people to Him. Your testimony can bring people to Christ. Don't be afraid to share it. It only takes one person to share one testimony.

Prayer

Thank you, God, for everything you have done, are doing, and will do, in me and through me. Help me share everything you have done. Let the words and actions of my testimony impact and influence those around me. Allow them to see you through me. That you may receive the honor and praise for what you've done, give those who hear faith to believe you can and want to do the same for them. In Jesus' name, I pray, amen.
